Our wines are hand crafted from grapes grown in our own vineyard. We hand pick them to optimize the flavor and the quality of the fruit.
Norton/Cynthiana The Norton grape is an American grape called Vitis aestivalis. This grape was found in 1835 near Richmond, Virginia.
The berry is black in color and the wine is a very deep dark red. Because of the nature of this grape the wine does not age as well as
some reds do. It does make a great wine.
Catawba The Catawba grape is an American type grape called Vitis labrusca. It was discovered by the Catawba river in
North Carolina, Although the grape is pink when ripe, our wine finishes to a golden color.
St. Vincent The St. Vincent grape's history is not clear. The plants in our vineyard came from Bill Toben,
former owner at Gloria Winery in Mt. Grove, Missouri. He found the vine in Wisconsin and brought it with him to
Missouri over 20 years ago. The berry is a dark blue-black and the wine is red. We use it to make a dry red, a sweet red
and a rose'. We find it very versatile.
Cayuga White The Cayuga White grape is a hybrid wine grape that was developed in New York in 1972. We use the
Cayuga White as a blending grape in our "Whispering Oaks White" wine.
Vidal Blanc The Vidal Blanc grape is a French American hybrid grape. The grape is light green to straw in color with small russet dots on them. We make two Vidal Blanc wines and also use the grape as a blending grape in our "Whispering Oaks White" wine.
At this time we are also growing Rougeon, Frontenac, Niagara, and Traminette. We hope to treat our visitors with wine from some of these in the very near future.
